Many travelers believe that their traveling days are over once they have a baby in the family. The truth is that with a little planning you can still travel and have a great time even though you have a baby. You only have to look around you in places where there’s a large number of tourists to see this for yourself.

Although twins, or a toddler and a baby, might complicate things a little bit, it still does not mean you have to stop traveling. If you can visit your local park with your two babies safely tucked away in the latest tandem stroller, you can also stroll down the Champs Elyses with them. With one of these strollers you will even be able to get into the many boutiques without any trouble, since it can easily fit through a narrow doorway.

A little careful advance planning will make your life much easier when you get to your travel destination. Make sure, for example, that you pack baby bath towels. Also take along his/her favorite toys, special food etc. A good supply of disposable nappies is of course a prerequisite.

Perhaps you already have one of these, but if not the European style spa baby is a very logical addition to your arsenal of baby products. With this type of baby bath, you can bathe the baby in the upright position, which they find much less scary than being bathed horizontally.

Should you be traveling by motor vehicle, buying a light-weight carrier style car seat for the toddler or baby is a great idea. It’s simply so much easier to transfer the child from the car to the stroller and back using one of these.

While it’s certainly possible to travel with a baby, it’s now practical to do so in mid summer or when the earth is covered under a blanket of snow. Not only will your baby find temperatures of forty degrees uncomfortable, you will also not find it a huge pleasure to have to carry or push around one or more babies in such extreme heat. The same is true for winter. The best seasons to travel with a baby are autumn (fall) and spring.

Don’t forget to bring your camera along. During the course of your journeys with junior you are very likely to get into situations that you find frustrating at that moment, but in retrospect you will realize how funny it actually was. Pictures like that will in years to come become your favorite travel memorabilia.
