A Child’s Outdoor Playhouse And A Their Garden
Jun 12th
Transforming the space around your child’s outdoor playhouse is a lot easier than you think. All you need is a small amount of time and a whole lot of seeds! Yes, seeds. Reconfigure the area around your child’s playhouse by planting an herb, flower or vegetable garden.
Here are a few reasons why you should really consider working with your child to convert that beautiful land into something extra special:
Get active with your child! Digging, pulling and tending to the flowers, herbs and flowers will be a great workout not to mention enjoying Mother Nature. Think about all that great fresh air for your lungs and wonderful stretching and bending for your body! The time spent outside in the garden will depend upon how large and extensive the garden ends up being along side the outdoor play house.
Your child can grow their own fresh and healthy foods or beautiful flowers! Children will get a kick out of the foods that they harvest from the plants that they cultivated next to their playhouse. Plant herbs and vegetables that your family already enjoys, and add in a few different vegetables to expose them to different varieties.
Gardens are perfect for exploring your child’s creative side! Your child will get inspiration from their garden and will want to go to their special play house creative space. Colors abound from bright red tomatoes that grow in clusters, beautiful deep purpled egg plants tops, yellow bell peppers and the multiple flowers that surround the wooden playhouse. The fantastic array of colors around the playhouse will make your child want to spend hours in their very own garden.
Your child’s outdoor playhouse will be completely surrounded by what may look like an artist’s palette when everything has grown. It will be time well spent with your child and your child will never forget their very first garden next to their playhouse!
Some Ways To Get Your Children Outside
May 12th
The outside world is sadly all but forgotten about by lots of kids now. TV and computers have taken over a lot of people lives and this is having dramatic medical implications all across the country. Sport is one of the best ways to get outside, get moving and enjoy everything the world has to offer. Below are three examples of sports that use nature to its most and will certainly get your heart pumping?
Biking. They say you never forget how to ride a bike…so what is stopping you getting on one now. You can pick up good second hand bikes now for next to nothing and you can look up good cycle routes on the internet very easily. On top of this, with biking you can take it as easy or as vigorously as you like so you don’t have to worry if you’re unfit at the moment or are carrying an injury
Kayaking. If you’re a little more adventurous and like being on the open water then kayaking is the sport for you. Like mountain bikes there are plenty of good used kayaks on the market and all you need other than that is an oar and a life jacket. Before you go exploring too far its worth having some lessons just to build up your competence and ensure that you always stay safe.
Surfing. If the sun is out why not put on some boards shorts grab your favourite westsuits and hit the beach. Don’t try to stand up straight away, learn by catching the waves lying down first and then slowly work your way to vertical as you get better. Surfing is one of those sports that is very addictive so be prepared for wrinkly fingers
A Kids Playhouse Encourages The Love Of Outdoors
Apr 22nd
Being outside in a kids playhouse may seem like what some would consider to be standard kid’s play. However, a momentous force in influencing a child to work in a nature or environmental area may be those precious moments spent outdoors. The more kids play outside, they are interacting with the Earth and all it has to offer. So, for a kid, their play easily translates into a broader interest and deeper investigation into the world around them.
Some kids will want to pursue a nature-based career because they were so inspired by their outdoor experiences as a child. Several careers for a nature-loving child are possible:
Horticulturalist – Plants are captivating. They are many times beautiful. They sometimes smell great, and they are one of the keys to how we live and breathe. They have some very cool parts that kids will learn about through dissecting, looking through their little microscopes, or just picking for a small vase to sit on the window of their outdoor playhouse. These small opportunities to interact with plants and flowers may be the spark for a kid to want to learn more about jobs dealing with them.
Floral Design – Most people love receiving flowers. Children that play in and around an outdoor playhouse are sure to have some experience with all types of flowers. Beginning with the picking of flowers and fashioning bouquets for parents or to decorate their kids playhouse, children are starting to learn the basics of floral arranging and design.
Animal Trainer – How exciting to train animals to do a variety of tricks! While their first experiences may only be with a lady bug that they get to move along with a stick or a lizard that they keep in a shoebox in their outdoor playhouse, some children will relish those moments and want to learn more about the field of working with animals. These children may grow to become animal trainers or they may venture into another animal related field such as animal rescue work or zoology.
Kids playhouse fun and interacting with nature go hand-in-hand. Children that are encouraged by their parents to explore the Earth and all that it has to offer, may begin to develop a love and interest in science or nature-based fields.
The Outdoors Is The Best Place To Take Your Family On Vacation
Mar 9th
Once again the outdoors beckon us where you get dizzy with fresh air and sunshine. Camping in the forests of our great country has to be the ultimate in family activities. You not only get to spend time with your loved ones, you also get time to reinforce certain family values. If you are a nature lover, then it is so important that you pass your knowledge onto your children.
Once you have decided when to go and you have worked out where you are going on a map, you need to do some careful planning. Here again you could make it a family issue whereby the children get certain things to pack and organize. Boys will remember to bring their men’s sport watch for instance and girls will remember to take their digital book reader, for the unexpected rainy day. They could also plan certain meals which will included a few marsh mellows to toast on the fire a night.
Our children spend way to much time in their rooms, playing computer games or surfing the internet and not to mention the thousands of text messages that their poor thumbs have to produce. It is partly our fault because after all why worry about there whereabouts if you could keep them safely in their rooms?
We the parents are to blame in some areas because it is easier to keep an eye on a child if he is up in his room, than not knowing where he is or what he is up to if not at home. So we subconsciously provide them with entertainment that will keep them in doors. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, it just keeps the child away from nature and physical exercise.
If you have snow nearby, you could combine a camping with skiing and have double the fun. Take your alpine skiing equipment along and show off in front of them a bit, or even better, provide them with laughter as you come tumbling down a slope, looking rather odd.
Sunshine also plays a pivotal role in our well being. When exposed to it for a period of time our skin absorbs the UV rays and in turn we convert this into Vitamin D. The function of vitamin D in our bodies, is to help us absorb calcium and maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. This is good for a bones and especially in youngsters.
That is why camping or even skiing is a really good sport and activity to do and has the added bonus to binding a family closer together was well.
