Your Tips On Handling Pregnancy Gracefully
Jul 13th
Any period pregnant women will go through and any of the trimesters they are in with each pose some different challenges and problems. While this may be the case, at exactly the same time being pregnant will be one of the most wonderful and amazing things that a woman can experience. However, one of the more important things that most women will try to make sure of is that they handle their pregnancy well and do so gracefully.
One of the key things to this end is to prevent yourself complaining frequently during the initial pregnant months. Many women will tend to complain constantly to their colleagues, families, and friends about the troubles they are having with morning sickness and fatigue. However, while your friends are unlikely to tell you to quiet down, this can start to get on their nervous.
Obviously, they will not want to let you know to your face but you shouldn’t put them in a position where they are getting fed up with your complaints. Instead, then to your feelings to those who understand instead. Others will not be in a position to know what you are going through and therefore you should speak to other pregant mums and share your problems together.
It is also a good idea to ensure that the changes that you go through are managed in an appropriate fashion. One of the main ones of these will be in the weight that you gain. While it is fine for any woman carrying a single child to gain roughly 30 or 40 pounds of weight during their pregnancy it is important that you do not focus too much on ‘eating for two’. Instead focus on enjoying some healthy foods and healthy diet, getting exercise, and also in resting as often as possible.
Managing your stress levels is also very important. If your stress levels are much lower than you will obviously appear to be a lot more graceful with the handling of your pregnancy. As such you should cut down any work hours that you are doing and also focus on relaxing as much as possible.
Talking and bonding with your unborn child is also a fantastic thing that you can do. You should try to do all of this with your partner and you should be stroking your belly, talking together to your child, and enjoying the movements that they make.
These are only a few things that you should consider when you are trying to handle your pregnancy gracefully.
Is It Safe To Exercise While Pregnant?
Jun 29th
As long as your doctor gives you permission, there is no reason to stop exercising during pregnancy. You might, however, have to change your routine to accommodate your growing stomach. Here is some very interesting information provided by the American Pregnancy Association.
The most crucial factor is to never let your heart rate go above 140 beats per second when exercising. This especially applies to women in the first trimester of pregnancy. Walking is excellent exercise and it is not at all dangerous. Unlike running, it is much easier on the knees. Before setting off for a walk, do a few stretching exercises.
If running forms part of your usual routine, you can continue with the consent of your doctor. When you run, wear proper shoes, do not get too hot, and keep yourself well hydrated. However, if you did not run prior to becoming pregnant, it would be unwise to start a running program until after the baby’s birth.
Cycling is very beneficial during pregnancy. You must ride on a stationary bike so that you are less likely to fall off. You can get an excellent and safe workout on one of the Diamondback bikes commonly used by pregnant women. One such model is the Apex R8 Recumbent bicycle. The seat has extra width to ensure comfort and support. Pulse sensors that are fitted into the handle bars enable you to watch your heart rate.
Yoga is good for your baby and you, as long as you don’t do strenuous exercises. Join a class that caters for pregnant women to ensure the routines are safe. Similarly, if you enjoy aerobics, find an instructor who offers classes to pregnant women. Swimming is also a safe, healthy exercise.
Exercises that must be avoided during pregnancy are horseback riding, water skiing and snow skiing. The jolting movements in horseback riding can be dangerous for mother and baby. There is a big danger of falling during snow skiing, and water skiing is very strenuous on the stomach.
When exercising, wear comfortable, loose clothes. Wear well-fitting, solid shoes and a sports bra for extra support. Be sure that your shoes have non-slip soles. Always breathe deeply and drink lots of water.
As long as you and your baby are healthy, there is no danger in exercising during pregnant months if you are cautious. Avoid jerking movements and don’t lie on your back for a long time. If you feel faint, nauseous or dizzy, stop exercising straight away. If you have vaginal bleeding or contractions, get hold of your doctor immediately.
Some Tips On Getting Through The First Stage Of Your Pregnancy
Jun 29th
The first trimester of your pregnancy may well be the hardest period that you will go through. Your body will be going through some massive changes and you will encounter a number of different problems. As such, here are some things that you can do to get over any problems that you suffer from.
One of the most common issues during this period pregnant women will encounter will be the fact that they will feel very tired all of the time and will suffer from fatigue. Of course this is also something that can be made worse if you live a fairly easy lifestyle and are always engaging in different activities. It is therefore important that you are always getting plenty of rest and are therefore getting to sleep early. In addition, you should try to make sure that you nap on a regular basis as well.
Another problem that pregant women suffer from is morning sickness. While many will have this problem, not all will, but for those who do it can be extremely unpleasant. It is certainly a good idea to eat smaller meals every 2 to 3 hours in order to keep your blood sugar levels up. If you only eat on a less regular basis then this will often cause you to feel more nauseous.
In addition, it is absolutely crucial that county of fluid is got into the diet throughout the day as well. The body will be working very hard to create this new life within you and therefore you need to be feeding your body with plenty of good fluid. You should try to limit juice in your diet as much as you can and should instead focus on drinking water and drinks that incorporate plain water primarily such as tea.
In terms of how quickly you sit down, lie down, and get up, this is something you should be doing relatively slowly. Any sort of fast movement will commonly cause any woman to feel quite nauseous and as a result you should focus on slower movements. Of course, this will be of particular importance during the morning and so you should never be jumping straight out of bed but should take everything more gradually.
Going to the bathroom on a regular basis is another problem that women will encounter, but to be fair there isn’t a great deal that can be done to combat this. Drinking less might be something that will across your mind so that you do not need to pee so often, but in actual fact this cannot be done as you will need to get the fluid into your body.
These are only a few of the problems you will encounter during the early stages of your pregnancy. However, if you follow some of these tips, the entire time should pass without too much problem.
Letting Your Family Know About Your Pregnancy
Jun 6th
During any pregnancy first to consider yourself before anyone else. Certainly your priority should be number one and once you have considered yourself and have managed to get your head around the whole situation you can then start to think about other considerations. One of these might well be in letting your family and friends know about your pregnancy.
When you do want to do this there will be a few things you will need to think about. One of the first things you will have to consider will be how they are likely to react to you being pregant. Their reaction will certainly be different depending on the situation and whether or not this pregnancy was planned.
By considering their reactions you can then brace yourself for how you will be able to handle what they say. Of course, this is only really applicable if their reactions are likely to be bad, and if their reactions will be good then you will not have to worry about this but can simply bask in your combined happiness.
It may also be important for you to think about when you should tell them about your pregnancy as well. Do you want to let people know immediately or would you prefer to wait a little while until all of the dust has settled? If it’s an early period pregnant stage and you own your first trimester then you may want to wait a little while until the chance of having a miscarriage has gone down. Some people also want to wait until they show a little bit before they let people in on it.
Of course, or you tell first will also be high on your list of considerations. You should therefore write down a list of exactly who you need to tell and who is prioritised right at the top. Most women will certainly find that they will tell their families first and in particular they will focus on their mothers.
Your personality will be another consideration. Some would prefer to tell everyone together and have a large party to celebrate their happiness and get lots of compliments and congratulations all in one. However, other people are more reserved and would prefer to keep the entire situation a little bit more low-key.
All in all, certainly you will have to consider many different things. The most important thing will be in the reaction and the situation of your pregnancy when it comes to how they will be told.
Tips On How Pregnant Women Can Still Look Their Best
Jun 6th
During that nine-month period pregnant women have a common problem: looking their best all the time. Whether you’re conscious of the brand or style of what you wear, fret not. Department stores nowadays sure got lines exclusive for expectant moms like yourself. Also, there’s the internet to help you out with your shopping needs.
Within the first trimester, it’s still okay to put on the clothes you’re accustomed to wearing. However, it’s best to add in a few items out of stretchable fabrics, like lycra. Of course there will be certain items that you have to say ‘pass’ to, such as tight belts or stilettos. Wearing them can be quite uncomfortable, and people will be able to tell so.
While it’s true that many maternity items are expensive, there’s no need to overshoot your budget. List down a few must-haves and simply mix and match them. The list should include a pair of jeans and black pants, black or any plain-colored skirt, and a couple of shirts. Having a casual dress is also important. Each time you shop, simply buy a few things to go with these items.
Go for monochromatic colors if you want to make your gained weight less evident. An example is wearing an all-black getup. You can add life to it by putting on accessories that are brightly colored. They may be a necklace, bangle, purse, scarf and many others. Investing in such accessories is fine, as you can wear them even after you’ve given birth.
Wearing the right kinds of undergarments will help you feel beautiful, confident and comfy. Although no one can tell you’re wearing such, knowing you have them on will tremendously boost your mood. There are sexy and attractive negligees or nighties designed especially for those in the family way.
Get fitted by a professional, usually the sales personnel will do, when purchasing bras. The size and shape of your breast will change all through your nine pregant months. Also, it’s during such times that you’re most susceptible to developing urinary tract infection (UTI). When picking panties, opt for breathable cotton ones. Wearing such will help decrease your risk for developing UTI.
Even when you’re pregnant, there’s no need to abandon being a fashionista. You can still look great, be it meeting up with pals or hanging out at the baby cribs section of the mall. Pregnancy is one of the most unforgettable stages in a woman’s life. And it’s just right to look beautiful outside, as well as inside, throughout that stage.
How To Get Ready For Your Newborn
Apr 5th
Awaiting the arrival of your first baby is a hectic, exciting and nerve wracking time. On the one hand you can’t wait to meet the tiny little thing that you have had growing inside you for so many months, but on the other hand you might be a little worried about what you are going to do with it once it is born.
The best thing that you can do is to get prepared. Now that does not mean dashing out to your nearby baby shop and maxing the credit card buying all the bells and whistles of baby stuff you can lay your hands on. It means reading up on baby information and preparing yourself mentally and physically for the birth.
If you want to there is virtually an endless amount of baby products that you could buy: from designer baby bedding to name brand baby shoes and everything in between. A lot of this stuff is unnecessary and just available because they know that moms to be get excited about buying baby stuff. The best advice is to buy the basics and adopt a wait and see approach for the rest of the stuff.
There are definite items that you will need to have to make everything run smoothly. A secure pram, a convertible crib that will adjust to the growth and development of your baby, clothing, blankets, bibs, bottles and a breast pump if you are breastfeeding are all wise investments. Extras like change tables are useful if you have the space and extra cash.
Emotionally you should be prepared for a bit of a roller coaster. When your new baby is born there are a million hormones screaming around your body and this can make you emotionally fragile and sensitive. When you add into the equation that your body has just been through a physically traumatic experience as well as undergoing a huge life change, then you can see that it might be a stressful period of your life. Buying a good bedding collection will also ensure that you do not have to do laundry so often.
The only answer is to take it all in your stride. Give yourself a break and don’t expect to be perfect at everything. Things like the vaccuming, washing up and so on can fall by the wayside a bit. If you can get someone to help you out a bit or het prepared before hand by cooking and freezing meals. The most important thing is that you and your baby are happy and relaxed.
Baby number one is a daunting yet exciting time for a mother to be. Be as prepared as you can with information about the birth and the first few months of your baby’s existence, but you do not need to go overboard with your preparations, purchases or expectations of yourself.
What I Experienced While Pregnant For The First Time; This May Be Useful To Other Pregnant Women
Apr 4th
I had no way of knowing what the future held for me when I was pregnant with my first child. It did not take long for me to find out. The first trimester was pretty normal, nothing changed. I woke in the mornings a couple of times with a slight case of morning sickness but that was it. Then the second trimester hit and I soon learned that I needed new clothes badly. I had been putting it off but it was time to shop for maternity wear.
I did not want to buy maternity clothes, I had been putting it off as long as I could. I just knew that I would not find anything that had style and I did not want to look like a fat woman in a potato sack. I could not believe my eyes when I got to the store. There were so many beautiful stylish clothes for pregnant women. They looked like clothes I would buy even if I was not pregnant.
I could not believe that I could still stay in style while I was pregnant. I was only in my second trimester so I didn’t by too much right then, just a couple of out fits. To hold me over until I got so big I would need a lot more clothes.
By the beginning of my third trimester I had already been back to the maternity clothing store twice and was headed there again. I bought several outfits, and some outfits to wear after the baby for a month or so because I knew I would not be able to get back into my old clothes right away.
Around my eighth month I decided it was about time that we got everything we needed for our baby so that the nursery would be ready. We already knew we were expecting a baby girl and I was so excited about buying girlie stuff. I wanted to buy all the girlie things I saw. I bought most of it.
While we were shopping I saw a ladybug baby bedding set and I just loved it right away. So we load up all our shopping bags and head home to start putting everything up. The baby’s room was beautiful and I loved how the new ladybug stuff looked on the bed.
A month later I was in labor and our little girl was born. After a few days in the hospital it was time to go home. I was getting my baby ready and putting on her going home outfit that I had with me and it was too big. I had to put her in the sleepwear that we had with us. For the whole first month that was all she could wear because she was so little. Nothing we brought would fit her. The point to this story is you may think you are prepared for anything but once your baby gets here you will learn that you are never prepared enough.
Getting Ready For A New Baby
Mar 29th
It is very exciting to know that a new baby will soon be joining your family. If this is your first baby, it can also be a very scary time. Just relax and read on to learn some things to do to prepare for baby’s arrival.
The mother-to-be needs to see a doctor as soon as she believes she is pregnant so that she can begin to take prenatal vitamins. The expectant mother’s doctor can give her tips to help her take the best care of herself and her unborn baby as possible.
Shopping for maternity wear can be a lot of fun as there are many stylish clothes to choose from to help the expectant mom look her best. Many women go through a phase where they just feel fat, rather than pregnant. Buying some new maternity clothes may help that feeling pass. Judging by all the attention pregnant celebrities receive, it is very fashionable to have a baby bump!
Backaches and sore feet are just a couple of discomforts that come along with pregnancy. Giving mom a foot or back rub may help lessen the discomfort a little. Do not use a hand held massager without first checking with your doctor to be sure it is safe for baby.
Decorating the nursery can be a lot of fun. You will need quite a few diapers, blankets and sleepers for your baby. You will also need a crib for the baby. Many new parents are buying convertible baby furniture. The upside is that a convertible baby crib grows along with your baby. It can be changed into a toddler’s bed or a day bed and some even come with rails and a headboard that can be made into a full size bed. While a convertible crib is very convenient, one drawback could be that the crib could be in use as a toddler bed when another baby comes along and you would need to find another crib. Just decide what would work best for your family.
If this is not your first baby, keep in mind that your older child or children may be confused about what is going on. They may not totally understand what being a big brother or sister means. Make sure you give them plenty of attention and do your best to prepare them for the new addition.
Your baby’s due date may feel like it is never going to arrive, but you can stay busy preparing for your new addition. It won’t be long until your new baby is snuggled in your arms.
When You’re Getting Ready For That Baby
Mar 27th
When you’re preparing for the birth of your new baby you are running around a lot. Figuring out what to buy, what to place on a gift list. Things like towels that you know you’ll need tons of, and other items that you may not need for long, but still will need to have.
If you plan on breast feeding, believe me you’ll need to buy an electric breast pump. It can have you with a supply that will allow those nights out later on when you need them. Plus hopefully you’ll be able to get a few hours of sleep when the hubby feeds the baby instead of waking you up!
Every child needs to be clean, but when they are new born, you never should place them in a large tub. That’s why buying a baby bath before hand is a must. It will allow you to bathe your child right in your sink. Keeping them safe and comfortable as you clean up their body. Something that even will have your husband feeling that he will be able to give the baby a bath.
Of course as they get older you will be able to move them to a bigger bath. It’s about this time you should have baby bath toys all bought and ready. Little rubber ducky’s, or anything else that is cute that your little child will adore.
Not that it will allow you to take your eyes off your young one when they are in the bath, but it’s a great thing to have them learn with. Playing with the toy, you can make noises, and they will duplicate or try to make the same noise. It’s a wonderful time in raising a child, and something that you can make better.
It’s a great part of life and something that can add to their lives and yours as well. Maybe that boat will change that little boy into a dreamer of a captain of a boat one day. You never know when you play with those toys at that young age.
Planning the right things to have purchased for several steps of your child’s life gives you a step ahead. The time will pass by more quickly than you can realize. One day it will be changing diapers, and the next you’ll be sending them off for the first day of school.
Enjoy it while you can when they are young, and prepare with safety in mind. Remember that you have neutral colors that you can use if you’re not sure what sex of child you will be having.
Are You Wondering About The Best Way To Feed Your New Baby?
Mar 20th
New parents are sometimes at a loss as to what to do when it comes to some of the things they face with a new baby. The trial and error way of learning is the best way. Once you get to know the likes and dislikes that your baby has, any problems with feeding become a lot easier to deal with.
Leaving the hospital with your baby buckled in the graco car seat is going to be a wonderful experience for you. You will suddenly realize that you are a new parent. You will begin to feel elated and frightened all at the same time. There is something special about that first car ride with a car seat that has a baby finally in it riding in the back of your car.
The first months of life for your baby will be spent sleeping and drinking milk. The best kind of milk is breast milk from mom. The babies who are breast fed don’t get sick as much as those babies that are fed man made formulas. The nutrients in a mother’s breast milk can’t be copied and put into a container on the store shelves.
For those mothers who do choose to breast feed their baby, the need for a double electric breast pump is imperative. This pump will work on both breasts at once and will help tremendously in saving time, especially if you work away from the home and leave baby with a sitter while you are gone. Using a pump will also ensure that your baby always gets mom’s milk, even while you are away at feeding times.
Use only glass bottles for storing your breast milk for baby. Make sure the bottles that you use are freshly sterilized and have a good seal when you close them. Put warm bottles of fresh breast milk into the refrigerator right away to make sure they don’t have a chance to spoil.
The time for your baby to start eating solid food comes between three and four months of age. The first food will be baby cereal moistened with breast milk. When you introduce table food for the first time, you should only give light foods that will be easy on baby’s tummy like mashed potatoes.
Buying baby food at the supermarket can get to be expensive. The best thing to do is to use a kitchenaid food processor and make your own baby food. You will know what is going in your baby and whether it is fresh or not. You also won’t have to worry about additives and preservatives.
